I flew out with the band Labor Day weekend to attend the 21st annual Chilliwack Bluegrass Festival. We had a wonderful time!! BD was very well received and we met so many great people. It was interesting in chatting with people that so many of them had a connection to Winkler, or at least to Manitoba. Another thing, they loved the music and weren't afraid to show their appreciation! To all you folks out there, thanks for having us and making us feel so welome! We hope to see you again!

Hi everyone! Just a little update on what happening with the band these days. As far as the CD goes, they'll be heading to the studio again this weekend. I'll be sure to post once they have a projected release date! Schedule wise, several dates are in the works for the upcoming spring and summer. Check back regularly as I'll add those to the schedule once they are confirmed. For those of you who attended the Bluegrass Gospel Night at the PW Enns Hall last March, you'll remember BD played a set with John's sister Nettie Nickel. That's the plan for this year as well. BD will play a set on their own, and another set with Nettie. As far as I know, tickets for this year's event are not on sale yet, but be sure to keep March 29th in mind. |

It turned out to be a great night at Buhler Hall in Gretna this past Friday. Borderline Drive, along with Four Grace and the Friesen Family took to the stage as part of the Altona C.A.R.E Handi-van Fundraiser.
Something new for BD, Kayla took a turn on vocals, singing harmony for one song. Way to go Kayla! You did us proud! :) The night ended with all three groups on stage for the grand finale, singing 2 songs together. Check out the Misc. folder on the Photo page for pictures of the event. We were told approximately $5000 was raised for Altona C.A.R.E.
Work is continuing on the CD, with hopes of having it out early in the new year. We'll keep you updated.

Well, thanks to all you that have been checking out the new site! We're very pleased with how it turned out, and hope you'll find it interesting and useful in keeping in touch with the band. I'll be updating it reguarly, adding new dates to the schedule as they are confirmed, adding photos after performances, and just keeping you informed on what's happening. Just wanted to let you know that work on the CD has begun! It is still very much in the beginning stages, but the band has spent a day in the studio, and will be heading back in about a week's time. Hopefully we'll get some pictures of them in the studio somewhere along the way! |
